Roger Gasser, LPCC, CADAC IV
Professional Clinical Counselor
Clinical Specialties: Counseling for alcohol, drug, and sexual addiction issues; support to families and churches trying to help individuals dealing with addictions; depression; anxiety; relationship problems; and coping with serious medical illness.
Populations Served: Primarily adults and families; teenagers.
Biography Video
Roger started working at ACCFS in 2014 and retired in 2021. He worked primarily out of the Paulding, OH office while also utilizing a Bluffton, IN location. He received a Bachelors and Masters degree from The University of Akron in 1976 and 1980 respectively. He received his Masters degree in Counseling from Indiana/Purdue University at Fort Wayne in 2002.
Roger also has clinical experience in a variety of settings including Gateway Woods as a Clinical Counselor, and at a drug/alcohol treatment program, working in Intensive Outpatient Treatment.
Roger taught in both public and private schools for over 30 years, beginning counseling training while yet a teacher. During graduate training he worked at Westwood Behavioral Health Center (Van Wert, Ohio) and became involved with addiction work relating to both adolescents and adults. He later took a part-time position as an addictions counselor at The Turning Point in Paulding, Ohio. Following his teaching career, Roger worked as a counselor for Gateway Woods Family Services in Leo, Indiana for 5 years, working with the residents and families who had encountered a variety of behavioral, social, and mental health issues. He was also involved in their Drug & Alcohol treatment program which was started in 2012.
He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He lives with his wife, Sue, in the Paulding, Ohio area, and they are members of the Apostolic Christian Church of Junction. While they are now “empty nesters,” Roger and Sue have six children and 17 grandchildren at various locations in Ohio and Indiana.
