Resources for Aging

Ron Messner

As believers, we understand God has a purpose and plan for each of us. Seeing his beauty and love played out through the different developmental stages of life can be part of that purpose and plan. Each stage builds off each other and there is a sense of progression. Increased responsibilities occur and we experience satisfaction when God gives us an opportunity to use the skills and experiences with which he has blessed us.

As we age, this progression of skills and responsibilities becomes less evident. Believers may struggle as we feel our abilities change or we relinquish roles which society values. As this happens, embracing an intentional, biblical model of values, purpose, and examples is important in the later years of life. Who each of us becomes in our later years and defining what we have to offer is an ongoing transition and opportunity for conversation. A map of commonly referenced topics, discussion points, and resources for these transitional years can be found on the pages below.
