Using technology is an everyday part of life for most people. However, for some individuals, becoming obsessionally focused on staying connected to their devices becomes a dependency that creates impairment in their lives.  From constant checking of likes on social media to the point of hurting their grades to disrupting their sleep-wake cycles due to playing multiplayer online games, there is an alarming rise in the number of people unable to disconnect from technology.
