Main Sessions
Session 1
The Slow Drift and the Strong Bond
Drift is slow, passive, and creates unwanted distance over time. Without intentionality, relationships can experience drift. This session will discuss what drift is, what it looks like, and the profound but often overlooked role of friendship in marriage. This session includes marital prework assessments.
Session 2
Breaking Through to Deeper Connection
The safety and connection we feel as a couple creates a foundation from which we build other aspects of our marriage. This session looks at ways to build healthy connection within our marriage relationship as well as identify common barriers to this growth. Couples will be given time to reflect on and build their connection during an activity following this session.
Session 3
Daily Habits That Build Connection
Intentions often come. Intentions often go. For couples fighting busy schedules, jobs, children and ministry opportunities, time management and inevitable drift is difficult for marriages. This session focuses on small but practical daily and weekly habits to build a strong marriage. Couples will be given a practical exercise to consider how to integrate such habits in their lives.
Session 4
Physical and Emotional Intimacy
God’s design for marital sexuality includes both emotional connection and physical responsiveness. However, busy lives, stress, and skewed messages from the world can get in the way of experiencing the full blessing He desires for us in this area. This session focuses on different types of intimacy along with a healthy mindset to support couples in deepening their emotional intimacy while enhancing sexual fulfillment.
Session 5
From Loving to Cherishing
Commitment can lead to love, but it will often end there. Cherishing your spouse speaks to a deeper level of intimacy and connection. This session focuses on the differences between love and cherish while considering ingredients necessary to build a cherishing marriage.
