Kathy started working at ACCFS in 2020. She works primarily out of her office in Linwood, Michigan. She is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) with a clinical focus and received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University.
During college, Kathy gained clinical experience through internships in the foster care system and in the school system working directly with youth struggling with anxiety and depression. After graduating Kathy worked at Community Mental Health for Central Michigan for 6 years where she provided therapy services for children and families with various mental health needs. Kathy also worked as a Youth Intervention Specialist in the school system where she provided crisis screening and intervention services to youth and social skills training for students on the Autism Spectrum.
Kathy’s clinical experience has focused on working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. She is trained in Trauma–Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF–CBT) and utilizes this intervention with youth experiencing PTSD along with family therapy to meet the needs of the family unit. Kathy has a heart for helping individuals and families find hope, healing, and God-honoring purpose for their life.
Kathy is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Kathy lives in Linwood, Michigan and is a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Bay City.
